Description

Coulometric Karl Fischer Titrator Capabilities

Dynamic Titrant Dosing
The dynamic titration speed allows for timely and accurate titration results by relating the amount of iodine generated to the mV response from the Karl Fischer reaction. This provides for a larger generation of iodine near the beginning of a titration and more precise pulses near the titration endpoint.

Drift Rate Compensation
The HI904 Coulometric Karl Fischer Titrator automatically adjusts the titration calculation to account for the effects of any ambient humidity entering the titration cell. This provides a more accurate result by correcting for water not present in the actual sample.

Selectable Endpoint Criteria
The HI904 employs a dual platinum pin electrode for bivoltammetric endpoint determination. Users may choose termination criteria based on mV stability times or drift rates.

Multistage Cell Preparation
A pre-titration stage eliminates residual water present in the solvent and the cell, providing a reliable baseline start to analysis. Standby mode then keeps the solvent dry between titrations and when the titrator is not in use.

Purposeful Generator Design
Two styles of generators are available for the HI904 Coulometric Karl Fischer Titrator; a fritted design ideal for samples with low water content and high accuracy demand; and a fritless generator allowing for easier cleaning and maintenance.

Precision Iodine Generation
Our dosing algorithm allows for an extremely small amount of iodine necessary for the Karl Fischer reaction to be generated electrolytically using a pulsed current up to 400 mA, delivering iodine accurately and precisely.

Titration & Solvent System

Chemically Resistant Vessel & Tubing
The glass titration cell and PTFE tubing is designed to withstand the harsh solvents and reagents involved in Karl Fischer titration.

Sealed Solvent System
Ground glass joints completely seal the glass titration cell, minimizing exposure to ambient humidity, keeping the system dry, and reducing reagent consumption while saving time between titrations. Solvent may be exchanged in a matter of seconds with a quick fitting adjustment.

High Efficiency Desiccant
High efficiency molecular sieve desiccant helps maintain low and stable drift rates within the titration cell while preventing the ingress of ambient humidity into the sealed solvent system.

Titration Maintenance Agreement
You’ve made a great choice when you go with Hanna for your titration needs. All it needs is a little TLC, and it will serve you well for years.

All titration equipment requires annual maintenance due to the wearable parts and the harsh chemicals, such as sodium hydroxide, required in many titrations. An annual checkup, calibration, and replacement of burette accessories result in a long instrument life, accurate and precise results, and safe operation.

As always, Hanna delivers the quality and expertise you need at an affordable price. The Hanna Titration Maintenance Agreement keeps your instrument in optimal working order and ensures that you stay up-to-date on best testing practices. The agreement includes the following services and perks, which keeps your instrument performing at its best:

One (1) onsite calibration, performed for you by certified personnel

One (1) time replacement of wearable parts

Backup of your titration methods

Coverage by the Hanna Loaner Program. When you send your titrator in for service or repair, we will give you one of ours to borrow, with your methods loaded, so that you’ll never be without.

One (1) refresher training by a Hanna expert

25% off all services, including your install

5% off all Hanna purchases

Certificate provided to you upon completion

The Hanna titration line enjoys an incredibly low cost of ownership, and the Titration Maintenance Agreement is the cornerstone of that value.
